When was the last time you were actually in a photo with your kids… and no, the half‑blurry selfie with someone’s forehead cut off doesn’t count. I specialise in natural, relaxed, connection‑filled images that show your family exactly as you are — playful, loving, just the right amount of wild, and beautifully real.
Kids aren’t meant to sit still and smile on command, and honestly, that’s what makes family photography so magical. I never expect them to pose. Instead, I encourage movement, cuddles, games, tickles, spinning, exploring, and those contagious giggles that you can hear through the photo. These are the moments you’ll want to remember when they’re suddenly too big to scoop up or swing around.

Natural, Candid Family Photography Across Sydney
As a South West Sydney family photographer, I work in a range of beautiful outdoor locations all over Sydney — from golden fields to beaches, bushland, parks, and coastal cliffs. Every location is chosen for gorgeous light, space to play, and that relaxed, natural backdrop that suits candid family photography perfectly.
Your session will be simple, stress‑free, and carefully guided so you never feel awkward or unsure of what to do. I’ll gently direct you into moments that feel natural and authentic, while your kids lead the fun.
Why Golden Hour Makes All the Difference
Most of the family photos you see on my website were taken during golden hour — the last hour before sunset when the light is soft, warm, and beautifully flattering. To capture that dreamy glow, outdoor family sessions in Sydney are scheduled:
- Around 3:30pm outside daylight savings (April–September)
- From around 6pm during daylight savings (October–March)
Some Sydney locations also work beautifully in the morning, so if evenings don’t suit your family, I can recommend sunrise‑friendly spots. Morning sessions start between 6–7am and are available at select locations.
Sessions run for close to an hour — long enough to capture a full gallery of natural, candid family photos without pushing little attention spans too far.
Worried About a Late Session? Trust Me — They’ll Be Fine
If you’re unsure how your little ones will cope with a later session time, I promise you: bedtime will be the last thing on their minds. Kids get a magical second wind when they’re outdoors, exploring, playing, and having fun with you. The tiny break in routine is absolutely worth it for the memories you’ll walk away with.
Booking Your Sydney Family Photography Session
Because I only take four weekend sunset sessions per month, weekend dates book out well in advance. If you’re hoping for a Saturday or Sunday, it’s best to book early to avoid missing out.

This includes your 1hr photography session at an outdoor location with 10 edited digital images of your choice delivered in High and Low resolution in both colour and B&W versions. You will also receive a welcome guide, a session preparation guide to get you ready for your photography experience with Laura, access to our client closet of outfits, a private online viewing gallery of your images to choose from, and a $100 print credit towards your final order.
Package upgrades are available. We have the LUXE Collection which includes 20 images or the ULTIMATE Collection which has your entire image gallery of 40+ images.

Where is a good place to have our session?
I have a range of favourite locations all across Sydney. Once you have booked your session, we can discuss the type of location you’re after (beach, bush, urban) and I can make some suggestions. My favourite locations are places that I shoot at regularly and know the light and setting so well.
Do you offer extended family sessions?
I do offer extended family sessions at a slightly higher session fee, as there is extra work involved with larger groups. The session fee for extended family’s is $330.
What if rain is forecast on our session date?
I shoot in all weather, EXCEPT RAIN! If it’s sunny, great… if it’s a little cloudy, even better… if it’s raining, we reschedule! I do keep a close watch on the weather in the lead up to your session date, so we usually have a good idea of what will happen a few days prior.
What if we are sick on our session date?
If you are sick, we reschedule. Even if I have the slightest hint of a cold, we’ll reschedule. It’s not worth taking any risks when small children and babies are involved. There is no fee to reschedule, provided that the rescheduled session takes place within 1 month from the original date.
When can we expect to receive our photos?
You’ll receive a link to your password protected online gallery within 2 weeks from your session date. There, you will be able to view your entire gallery and select the images you would like as part of your chosen package. You also have the option to purchase the entire gallery if you find it just too hard to choose. After you’ve made your selections, any printed options which are part of your selected package will be ordered, your hi-res and web sized image files will be prepared and everything will be posted out to you in a neat little package. The entire process can take anywhere from around 4-5 weeks for digital + print packages, or up to 8 weeks if you select the entire gallery with album option. I promise you they’re worth the wait!
Do you provide us with the RAW image files?
No, you receive only full resolution edited Jpeg files. RAW files are only readable through special photo editing software and are not part of the full service photography experience I pride myself on.
How far do you travel for outdoor locations?
I service all of the Sydney region, but anywhere outside of a 25km radius from Ingleburn 2565 will incur a small additional travel fee.
Do you offer discounts if we book more than 1 session?
I certainly do! Ask me about my Bundles options when making your booking. The most popular sessions for clients to bundle is Maternity, Newborn, Sitter, or Cake Smash Sessions.
