This incredible couple were not presented with ideal weather for their wedding day, but they weren’t about to let a little (ok, a lot of) rain dampen their love! They skies were overcast and dark when we arrived at the picturesque Sylvan Glen Country Estate. Escaping the cold, we headed indoors to capture the boys wedding preparations. There were card games, a round of pool, and an exchange of gifts from Shane to his boys. The sense of camaraderie and mate-ship was incredible.

Next we headed over to see how the girls wedding preparations were coming along. Tania, along with her daughter, her granddaughter and her best friends were helping this stunning bride get aisle ready. Stepping out from behind the curtain for a big reveal to her bridal party and family, this vision of beauty left everyone tearing up! Finally ready to marry her man, Tania made her way out to walk down the aisle to the rumbling sound of distant thunder.

Shane and Tania’s wedding ceremony went off without a hitch and there wasn’t a dry eye in the house! Their wedding vows were so genuine and emotional, they included a touching sand ceremony, and they shared their first kiss as husband and wife just at the moment that he heavens opened! With their guests running for cover, Shane and Tania ducked under a nearby tent to sign their official wedding documentation before being announced to the guests as Mr & Mrs Phillips.

The rain cleared just in time for us to head out after the ceremony and roam the beautiful grounds of Sylvan Glen. With all the glorious shades of green made even more vibrant with all the rain, we were blessed with a stunning backdrop, sparkling water droplets everywhere and dramatic skies. As the skies opened once more, we decided it was high time they joined the festivities of the wedding reception to party the night away with their nearest and dearest.

And what a party it was! Amazing food, heartwarming speeches, and the most AMAZING performance of the Hacka I have every witnessed! It was performed by Tania’s son as a gift to his mother honouring their Kiwi heritage. With the most romantic first dance, a divine wedding cake creation, and some of my signature night photography, I would have to say that this was one spectacular wedding!

Thank you Shane and Tania for including me in your special day!
